Orange County residents who want to vote before the May 8 primary election for North Carolina can cast their votes on the UNC campus.
An early voting site will be available in the Bell Tower Room on the second floor of the Rams Head Dining Hall. Voters may park for free in the Rams Head Deck on Ridge Road, but only with a validated parking ticket stamped by Board of Elections staff at the site.
The early voting schedule is:
- April 23 – 27, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.;
- April 28, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.;
- April 30 – May 4, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and
- May 5, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Chapel Hill Transit operates regular bus routes to and around campus.

The deadline to register to vote is 25 days before the election. People who miss the registration deadline may register in person and vote at one-stop voting sites in the person’s county of residence during the early voting period. The applicant must show acceptable proof of name and residence in the county.
