Are you ready for WOW? Carolina’s Week of Welcome starts Friday (Aug. 16) and runs through Aug. 25.

Week of Welcome introduces first-year and transfer students to the expectations, resources and involvement opportunities during their first semester at Carolina. Some of the activities include mini golf in the Undergraduate Library, an interactive, photo-based scavenger hunt, an ice cream social, popsicles in Polk Place, free movies, a cultural show with performances by several student organizations and a sunset serenade featuring some of Carolina’s a capella groups.

New Student Convocation will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 18) at the Dean E. Smith Center, followed by FallFest from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. on South Road. The 17th annual party will include free food, live performances, prizes, games and an opportunity to learn about all of the different student organizations on campus. In case of rain, FallFest will be moved to Fetzer Hall gymnasiums A and B.

The General Alumni Association and Student Affairs will host a new student and family welcome dinner from 5-8 p.m. on Friday (Aug. 16) at Rams Head Dining Hall and an open house from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday (Aug. 17) at the George Watts Hill Alumni Center. Preregistration for the welcome dinner is highly recommended.
