O. Ray Angle, UNC-Chapel Hill’s Director of University Career Services, was recently named one of the 10 most visionary and forward-thinking leaders in college career services and recruiting in 2013.

This is the second straight year Angle, who came in at No. 9, has made CSO Research Inc.’s list.

“Our profession is fortunate to have hundreds committed and talented leaders, many who have been my mentors, and it is humbling to be listed among these friends who are professional giants in my mind,” Angle said.

Angle was appointed to his current position in March, 2010, and previously served in similar roles at Cal State East Bay, Webster University, Millikin University, Saint Louis University and Bradley University.

More than 750 professionals from more than 520 colleges and universities responded to the 2014 Career Services Insight Survey. The final question of the survey asked: “”In your opinion, who are the most visionary and forward-thinking leaders in career services and recruiting today?” A total of 265 different career services and recruiting professionals were named, and those mentioned most frequently comprise the top-10 list.

“I am grateful to work with the best career services team in the nation,’’ Angle said. “They are the ones who really deserve this recognition because they are routinely conceptualizing and implementing creative approaches to our work.  Over the past few years they have won national awards in innovation for excellence in programming, diversity and inclusion, and technology.”
