The 15th annual Graduate Student Recognition Celebration on April 10 recognized students who receive prestigious fellowships and awards while their work contributes significantly to Carolina’s mission and to a variety of fields of study.

Forty-one students received Impact Awards.

The awards are privately funded through the generous support of The Graduate School’s Graduate Education Advancement Board (GEAB). Recipients present their research at The Graduate School’s Annual Graduate Student Recognition Celebration and receive a cash award for their accomplishments.

The celebration was held at the George Watts Hill Alumni Center with research displays and an awards ceremony.  At the ceremony, the graduate student recognition included:

  • IMPACT Awards
  • Boka W. Hadzija Award for Distinguished Service
  • Dean’s Award for Significant Contribution to Graduate Education
  • Dean’s Distinguished Dissertation Award
  • Council of Graduate Schools/ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Award
  • University Research Day Awards
  • Honor Society Inductions
  • External Fellowships and Awards.
