Carolina Performing Arts at UNC-Chapel Hill has rescheduled Fatoumata Diawara, one of two headliners from One Night in Bamako, for Friday, April 11 following the cancellation of the February 14 performance that was set to feature Diawara and fellow Malian musician Bassekou Kouyate.

Perpetuating Mali’s rich musical tradition, Fatoumata Diawara combines songs about love, politics and empowerment with arresting melodies soaring over intricate guitar and drum arrangements. Inspired by jazz and blues, Diawara has created her own unique contemporary folk sound, with a distinctly African spin.

Tickets for the cancelled performance will be honored on April 11 with no further action required from current ticket holders. Tickets may also be purchased for the April 11 concert. For more information, visit Carolina Performing Arts or call the box office at (919) 843-3333.
