The Duke-UNC China Leadership Summit, a three-day conference hosted each spring at Carolina and Duke University, will be held April 5-7.
The summit aims to strengthen Duke-UNC collaboration by bringing together undergraduate and graduate students from Duke, UNC and other top universities in the United States and China with interest in U.S.-China affairs. The summit features a series of esteemed U.S.-China speakers, interdisciplinary discussion and networking opportunities.
The theme of the third annual conference is sustainability, and topics range from political and economic issues to social and environmental issues. Attendees include bright and innovative students from Carolina, Duke, other UNC-system schools, top universities from across the country and high schools and universities in China.

• Marc Ross, director of communications and publications, U.S.-China Business Council
• Hanling Yang, deputy director, Environmental Defense Fund China Program
• Mark Laabs, COO, Climate Bridge, China office
• Christine Boyle, environmental policy and planning specialist, Blue Horizon Insight
• Elizabeth Sasser, policy advisor, U.S. Department of Energy, Office of the President
• Yan Song, professor, UNC Department of City and Urban Planning
• Robert Hall, senior engineer, AMEC Environment and Infrastructure
• Joe Rogers, Asian investment professional, The China Fund, Inc.
The events are hosted and jointly organized by the Carolina China Network and the Duke East Asia Nexus. Past attendees have included undergraduate and graduate students from UNC, Duke and universities across the United States and China.
Sunday conference events are free and open to the public. The remaining events are free but require a separate application. Information about the events, conference program and registration is available at the summit website.
