The FedEx Global Education Center was packed with students, staff and faculty who were eager to hear Folt and spend some time with her.
Folt, interim president of Dartmouth College and the Dartmouth Professor of Biological Sciences, was elected the 11th chancellor of Carolina by the Board of Governors of the 17-campus University of North Carolina. She will assume her duties on July 1, 2013.
